The Hillcrest Knights program supports dedicated athletes in AFL, Basketball, Futsal, Mountain Biking, Netball, and Volleyball, while the Basketball Excellence Program provides elite coaching and tournament exposure.
Students can also participate in House Carnivals, Border School Gala Days, and representative district and state trials.

Hillcrest Knights is our elite training program, designed for students who are serious about developing their skills. Led by specialist coaches, these programs focus on fitness, technique, and tournament play. While there is no weekly inter-school competition, students in these programs train regularly and are often selected for Gala Days, State-based tournaments, and representative teams.
Who it’s for: Students wanting high-performance coaching in select sports. Regular training for Gala Days & State Tournaments.
Opportunities: Advanced training, fitness development, and high-level competition.
For younger students building foundational skills. This program introduces Years 3-4 students to a variety of sports, focusing on fundamentals, sportsmanship, and team play. Over two years, students develop confidence in key sports through structured training and fun competitive play.
Who it’s for: Years 3-4 students new to team sports. Term-based program with a focus on skill development in Terms 1-4.
Opportunities: Skill-building, game experience, and sports education.
For students ready to compete in weekly inter-school matches. Hillcrest’s Years 5-6 teams compete against 15 local schools in the Gold Coast Inter-school Sports Association, allowing students to experience competitive sport in a structured and fun environment.
Who it’s for: Years 5-6 students who enjoy competitive sport.
Opportunities: Weekly inter-school games with a focus on teamwork and growth.
Semester 1: Netball (Mixed), Oztag, Soccer, AFL
Semester 2: Basketball, Touch Football, Cricket (Mixed), T-Ball (Mixed)
Training in Term 1 & Term 3 with weekly games in Terms 2 & 4.
For students engaging in sport or creative Thursday activities.
Every Thursday afternoon, students in Years 7-12 participate in ‘Thursday Activities’, choosing between competitive sports in the AGCC League or creative and academic activities.

Hillcrest supports high-performing athletes in Hinterland District, Regional, and State-level trials, allowing students to compete at elite levels and progress through representative pathways.
